1.Why choose Genesee Valley Windows?

Genesee Valley Windows has been manufacturing vinyl windows for 20 years.  The management is experienced and the products are comparable to any in the industry.  Each of the windows are welded using extrusions produced from virgin vinyl.  Each product line has been tested and approved by energy star and NFRC.  Who wouldn’t want an American made product with a 50 year warranty that looks good too?

2.Are Genesee Valley Windows tested and certified?

Genesee Valley windows products are tested by Keystone Laboratories and NFRC approved.  NFRC stickers are affixed to each window with ratings information.  Our windows are rated among the best in the industry.   Genesee Valley is also an Energy Star Partner.

3.Do Genesee Valley windows have a good warranty?

Genesee Valley Windows takes quality seriously and because of this we offer a warranty that is as good as any in the industry.  Vinyl, Glass, and parts are covered as long as you own your home.  Please see our warranty link for additional details.

4.Where can I buy Genesee Valley Windows?

We service the lower peninsula of Michigan, parts of Indiana, northern Ohio, and parts of Illinois.  Please contact us for additional information.

5.Will Genesee Valley windows eliminate my condensation problems?

Unfortunately, no.  New windows with the Low-E argon option will help reduce the chance of condensation but if your humidity is above 30%, they will not eliminate it.  The thing to remember is that condensation is a result of excessive humidity in a room.  Confucius say:  Windows do not make water.

6.What energy savings options does Genesee Valley offer?

Low-E glass is one of the most effective and cost efficient options available.  Low-E will aid in keeping your warm air inside in the winter and cool in the summer.  Additionally, it filters out ultraviolet light that can damage your furniture, carpet, or floors.  In addition to Low-E, we offer a foam filled frame that acts much the same as a refrigerator door slowing the transfer of heat and cold through your window.  Super Spacer™ is standard in all Genesee Valley windows and generally considered the most efficient spacer available.

7.What are Genesee Valley Windows made of?  Why does this matter?

All Genesee valley windows are made from virgin vinyl.  Additionally, each frame and sash is welded preventing air or water from coming through and further providing a great insulator against the elements.  The most common materials used to make windows are vinyl, wood, and aluminum.  Wood windows are also a good insulator but require periodic painting and can absorb moisture.  This moisture can eventually cause the window to warp and rot.  Aluminum windows are poor insulators.  They also require painting that could potentially peal or scratch.

8.Do Genesee Valley Windows require maintenance?

Genesee Valley’s vinyl windows require very little maintenance.  Painting is never an issue and the moving parts are designed to be maintenance free.  Sashes tilt in on double hung’s for easy glass cleaning and our slider sashes are easily removed from the inside of the house.

9.Will Genesee Valley Windows help pay for themselves?

Our windows will pay for themselves and then some depending on how long you live in your home.  According to analysis done by trade magazines in our industry, replacement windows recover anywhere from 70-100% of their cost when selling your home.  In addition to this, Energy Star estimates that you could save up to 40% on your energy bills by replacing the windows in your home.  Combine this with the fact that you will never need to paint or repair your vinyl windows and the decision to replace those old windows is easy.
